Suddenly Summer in Seattle!

You know what they say about the weather in Seattle: if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute. That's because the weather here tends to change constantly. An average day in Seattle consists of some rain, some clouds, and some sun. Those of us who have been here for years don't even notice it anymore, but visitors often comment on the constantly changing weather.

Today was different. I opened my eyes to sunshine at 6 AM and that glorious sunshine stayed with us consistently until almost 9 PM when it started (started!) to get dark. It was warm and clear and glorious today. All day!

I never know how many people will be home for dinner on any particular evening around here. Sometimes it's just Tom and me. Sometimes one or two kids join us. Tonight, though, the planets aligned and all seven of us were home for dinner! Elisabeth had been on a business trip in Portland and decided to stop at (her old) home on her way (to her new) home, so she was here. And Peter and Danelle came home and offered to bar-b-que hot dogs and hamburgers (and Boca burgers and chicken and veggies)!

So we washed the winter grime off the deck chairs and pulled the cushions from the storage shed... and THEN it was officially summer!
